Florida PEDReady
Caring for children in the emergency department (ED) can be challenging due to a wide range of ages and disease states or injuries that differ from adults. The goal of Florida PEDReady is to enhance pediatric emergency care, “readiness” and preparation in Florida EDs and EMS agencies. You can also visit the state of Florida’s website for more information.
Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC)
The EMSC works to promote EMS and trauma system development at local, state, regional, and national levels to adequately prepare for the care of children.
Pain Assessment and Management Initiative (PAMI)
The overall goal of PAMI is advancement of multimodal, safe pain management in healthcare systems to improve outcomes and reduce opioid risk. Multimodal management includes a variety of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions to address opioid stewardship, discharge planning, and safe pain management. PAMI includes a focus on older adults and other high-risk populations such as pediatrics, prehospital (EMS), and trauma patients. The project encompasses provider and patient education, quality improvement and research.
National Pediatric Disaster Coalition
The mission of the National Pediatric Disaster Coalition (NPDC) is to advance community preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery for infants, children, and their families in disasters. This includes development of pediatric specific Health Care Coalitions and advisory committees that integrate into the existing Health Care Coalition model.
